The National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa (“NFO”) is a single, one-stop, all-in-one dispute resolution service made up of the four former longstanding services: the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance (OSTI), the Ombudsman for Long-term Insurance (OLTI); the Credit Ombud (CO); Banking Ombud (OBS). The NFO's services are provided free of charge.
The NFO is tasked with adjudicating matters between banks and banking customers in a fair, quick and impartial manner.
